Benjamin Vincent Götze became an airline pilot after the basic studies of engineering. He was working for several namely German airlines. He entered airline management in Deutsche BA, a former British Airways subsidiary. After its merger with Air Berlin, the former second largest German airline, Benjamin Götze managed the flight operations of Air Berlin for more than ten years. During this time, he also led a multi-million Euro research project funded by the German state, in which an aircraft system for Boeing 737 was developed. Later he became the Chief Pilot of Air Berlin as well as the Head of Operations Logistics and Head of Operations Development of the entire Air Berlin Group. After leaving Air Berlin, he was involved in the foundation and restructuring of several operators. Benjamin Götze has more than 10,000 flying hours in Boeing and Airbus aircraft, most of as a Captain and trainer (TRI) on Airbus A320 Family.

Head of the research project DAGI

Benjamin Götze examined the question of the value of integrating the fleet as a data source into the IT infrastructure of an airline as head of the aviation research project DAGI „Datalink for Air Ground Intercommunications“ funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and involving the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Aerodata AG and Air Berlin in the years 2012 to 2015.The complete research report can be obtained from the Technical Information Library Hannover, „Deutsche Forschungsberichte“.
